THE BEGINNING OF THE END.

The garden seems to be going well. Suzi leaves next week for 2 weeks so I am pushing for all the planting to be done and in the ground so that it will be all about projects watering and weeding. More corn arrived with the new shipment of GMO free organic seeds. Incan Blue corn and another variety. The corn is so pleasing I get to plant more on the adjacent strip. Between the corn I am going to plant squash and climbing beans that will use the height of the corn. The verticle garden will go in along the fence at the end of the front plot opposite the corn patches. While Suzi is away we will build the support structures and set the string for climbing. Sunday we had a great meeting of the minds to iron out and put in place a few rules. I personally hate rules. I like everyone to be of like mind about what the Garden is. I think if everyone is a little considerate and thoughtful then things will go smooth. Unfortunately There is always going to be the ones that don't get it. Here are some I have thought about:
This is an organic and GMO free garden NO outside seeds, NO chemical pesticides of
any kind.
Sunday is harvest day. No personal harvesting unless you ask.
Clean and put all tools away when you finish with them.
No borrowing garden tools for personal use.
No taking resources of any kind from the garden unless you ask.
Be responsible for your pets.
Be responsible for your children.
No one at the garden alone.

Here is another set of thoughts:

What it takes to be a B.U.G.:

You must love the garden.
Come with a sense of giving.
Always have an eye out for resources.
Share your ideas and inspirations toward bettering the garden.
Not be afraid to take on a project.
Be patient.
